Richard Clein - my promise to you

"People who put themselves forward as candidates for parliament should not all be tarred with the same brush. My motivation in standing for Parliament in Sefton Central is based solely on wanting to serve local people, not on lining my own pockets. It's also about providing value for money for the taxpayer which our current MP clearly does not, coming bottom of the league table for attending votes in the House of Commons, including her failure to turn up for the crucial Gurkha vote. I would like to remain in the constituency for seven days a week. However the reality is that MPs do need to spend time in London and therefore need somewhere to stay overnight. I therefore make the following promises to the people of Sefton Central. Firstly I will only spend the minimum time necessary in London to enable me to do the job of serving their interests. Secondly I will rent a property, at minimum cost to the taxpayer and only claim the absolute minimum in expenses. Thirdly, I will not wait until the media ask me to publish my expenses. They will appear on my website at the earliest opportunity."

"Richard Clein is now recognised as the main challenger in the new Sefton Central."

The new Sefton Central constituency is Aintree Village, Blundellsands, Formby, Freshfield, Great Crosby, Hightown, Ince Blundell, Little Altcar, Little Crosby, Lunt Village, Lydiate, Maghull, Melling, Sefton Village, Thornton & Waddicar.

"..Crosby constituency has disappeared under new boundaries and is now succeeded by a Sefton Central seat that is likely to be a Tory Lib-Dem marginal."
